This was taken somewhere between Nice and Entrevaux.
In Nice, it was a hot summer day, people were lying on the beach.
In Entrevaux, it was a fine summer day in the mountains, not too hot but still above 20 degrees Celsius. In that one particular vallee, it is always cold.
The sun never quite gets there.
You cannot see that place from the road, you have to be lucky and need a wee at the right moment, get out of the car and turn a corner.
First, I noticed that the grass was frozen, then, as I looked around I saw a frozen stone and some frozen leaves on the floor.
I walked a bit more and saw this beautiful small waterfall, half frozen, half running.
Everything in that area seems so dramatic, especially when you are wearing a tee-shirt and a pair of sandals.
You can see the stone and the leaves in "stuff and things", or even better, go there yourselves and explore the region. It's fabulous!
